Events at the GRC - JULY 2026

Hello Everyone! In case you didn't know, in May, the Geraldine Rubia Centre suffered smoke damage from a fire at the warehouse attached to the Centre which is owned by Smith Stockley. Since then, the Centre has been closed, but operations have continued in a limited capacity, first at the Lions Park Chalet and since then, from the RCAF Lounge in Pleasantville. We've just received the good news from the insurance company that our claim for repairs has been approved, and the cleanup can now begin. We've been advised that this process of deep cleaning everything at the Centre will take about three weeks, so with any luck, the Board and members will be able to return in early August. As they become available, further details will be posted on this website and on Facebook. Thanks for everyone's concern and support during this challenging period and we look forward to continue to serve our members and the public with rentals and other special events from the Rubia Centre soon. Please Note: The Rubia Centre will be offering Fish and Chips to the Public every Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. This special offering will consist of - 1 Piece Fish and Chips, Dressing, Gravy and a Pop for the excellent price of $15 total. To place your orders, please call (709) 722 - 4338, preferably by the day before. People can eat-in or do take-out. Please inform your family, neighbours and friends to encourage them to support this new fundraising initiative for the Rubia Centre. Thanks for your support!
